Treatments
- Heat Treatment - Involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material. Heat treatment techniques include annealing, case hardening, precipitation strengthening, tempering and quenching.
- Ion Nitride Treatment - An industrial surface hardening treatment for metallic materials.
Coatings
- Painting - Primer or paints with various properties and colors.
- Anodizing - A process used to increase the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the surface of metal parts. Anodized surfaces are generally much stronger than most types of paint and metal plating. This makes them less likely to crack and peel from aging and wear.
- Zinc Plating - Prevents oxidation of the protected metal.
- Powder Coating - A type of coating that is applied as a dry powder and applied electrostatically. It is then cured under heat to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.
